Fine Art, Old Masters, Islamic Art, and Antiques. Including items from Captain Cook’s Circumnavigation aboard HMS Resolution 1772-1775.

This sale features a hitherto unseen collection of artefacts collected by Admiral Richard Grindall (1750 - 1820) whilst he was an Able Seaman aboard the Resolution on Captain James Cook's second circumnavigation; as well as artefacts collected by Rivers Grindall, son of Richard Grindall, during his service abroad, including in India.

Lots will be viewable from April 5th 2022 until 11am on April 12th 2022 at our Lower Sloane Street Auction galleries (69 Lower Sloane Street, London, SW1W 8DA). The auction will be held close-by at 12:00pm GMT at the iconic Sir Christopher Wren building, Wren House, The Royal Hospital.
