An extremely fine pair of French gilt-bronze twin-branch wall lights of Louis XVI. Late 18th century. Drilled and wired for electricity. Each terminating in two hanging tassels surmounted by grape-clusters and vine leaves, rising into part-fluted stems cast as vines knotted below twin scrolling branches of budding vines, finishing in piled grape clusters and buds, and topped by a trefoil ribbon. Stamped to the reverse: '888'.
